Cooking Instructions

Cooked Little Millet

  1. Rinse 1 cup of little millet thoroughly under running water.
  2. Soak for 20–30 minutes (optional for a softer texture).
  3. Add 2½ cups of water.
  4. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 12–15 minutes until the water is absorbed.
  5. Let it rest for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.

Little Millet Upma

  1. Dry roast the millet for 2–3 minutes.
  2. Prepare a tempering with oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, onions, green chilli, and ginger.
  3. Add water and salt, then stir in the millet.
  4. Cook until soft and fluffy.
