Cooking Instructions (for Idli & Dosa Batter)

  1. Wash the required quantity of idli rice thoroughly 2–3 times.
  2. Soak the rice for 4–6 hours. Soak urad dal separately if preparing traditional batter.
  3. Grind the soaked rice and dal into a smooth batter.
  4. Mix well, add salt if desired, and allow the batter to ferment for 8–12 hours or overnight.
  5. Use the fermented batter to prepare soft idlis, crispy dosas, uttapams, or paniyarams according to your preferred recipe.
