Annam Bansi Rava 1kg is a versatile Indian semolina made from quality wheat, perfect for preparing a variety of traditional and everyday dishes. Also known as Bansi Rava, Bansi Sooji, or Semolina, it is a popular pantry staple in Indian households.

With its slightly coarse texture, Bansi Rava is ideal for making upma, rava dosa, rava idli, kesari, halwa, and other delicious Indian recipes. It is easy to cook and works wonderfully with vegetables, spices, nuts, and aromatic ingredients.

Method:

  1. Dry roast the Bansi Rava in a pan on low-medium heat until lightly aromatic. Do not brown it. Set aside.
  2. Heat oil in the same pan and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
  3. Add curry leaves, green chilli, ginger, and onion. Sauté until the onion becomes soft.
  4. Add the mixed vegetables and cook for a few minutes.
  5. Add water and salt and bring to a boil.
  6. Lower the heat and gradually add the roasted rava while stirring continuously to prevent lumps.
  7. Cover and cook for 3–5 minutes until the rava absorbs the water.
  8. Garnish with fresh coriander and lemon juice.
  9. Serve hot.

🥞 Rava Dosa

Mix Bansi Rava with rice flour, water, salt, cumin, green chillies, and chopped coriander to make a thin batter. Allow it to rest briefly, then pour the batter onto a hot pan to prepare crispy, golden rava dosas.

🍮 Rava Kesari

For a delicious Indian sweet, roast the Bansi Rava in ghee and prepare it with sugar, water or milk, cardamom, saffron, cashews, and raisins. Cook until smooth and serve warm.

🥣 Rava Idli

Combine Bansi Rava with curd, spices, vegetables, and a suitable leavening agent to prepare soft and fluffy instant rava idlis. Serve with coconut chutney and sambar.
